Easy-going Vincent is a true team player and therefore feels completely in his element as team leader of the logistics department. "We work for and with each other, no one is on their own." Without hesitation, Vincent lists a series of product numbers of the most popular fabrics. Having worked in the warehouse for almost seven years, he knows the B&B collection like no other. "I first had no sense of fabrics at all, but my work here has changed that," he says. Floris' love of textiles is very contagious, Vincent explains. "You can sense that there is a genuine passion for the product." While working with a beautiful product is obviously a plus, Vincent considers having nice colleagues especially important. "I like the fact that we are a relatively small family business. Everyone knows each other and you can always have a chat with someone. Often the warehouse and office feel like two separate worlds, but I don't experience that here."
A real sportsman
As team leader of the logistics department, Vincent keeps an eye on stock, monitors work processes and ensures that customers never have to wait long for their orders. Dozens of rolls pass his hands every day. Which of these is his favourite? "I really like the Mid-Season Conversational collection. Those rolls fly off the shelves and are extremely popular. I especially like the football design (Soccer World Cup)." His selection of this print is no coincidence. Vincent is a real sportsman and has been a football coach at a club in Den Bosch for 16 years. He trains boys’ teams of varying ages: from children around 8 to young adults of 19, so he knows like no other how to create a group feeling. Something that also comes in handy as a team leader. "I think it's important that we do everything as a team. Otherwise, we won't get anywhere."
Although he loves and enjoys spending many of his evenings and Saturdays on the football pitch, this will be his last year as coach. "It's not fitting anymore." So, concessions must be made. Even this football fanatic can't juggle all the balls at once.
Yet there is one passion Vincent is not willing to give up. If he can't be found in the warehouse during office hours, odds are you’ll find him at the dart board in the cafeteria. There, you’ll rarely find him without some darts in his hands. Fair warning to those who dare to take him on: Vincent is a professional! "Every Friday night I go to a local community centre where I can play darts. You can compete in different leagues with that club as well." So, he may leave the football field, but the box of darts in his pocket is there to stay.
Whenever you hear uplifting Latin music, you know Astrid is nearby. Our head of the swatch department is a ray of sunshine, and her colourful outfits perfectly complement the equally expressive fabrics around her. Which is precisely where she prefers to be. "I just really love fabrics," she says.
